An immersive retreat that has transformed thousands of lives over more than twenty-four years. Come and experience it for yourself.
There is something special about stepping away from the pace of everyday life and giving your full attention to the Word of God.
Over six days, we journey through the entire Bible from Genesis to Revelation using the dramatised NIV audio Bible. Together, we move through every book of Scripture, listening, reflecting, sharing meals, having conversations, and taking in the beauty of God's story as a community.
As the Bible unfolds from beginning to end, you begin to see how every part points to God's faithfulness and the hope found in Jesus. For many, this retreat becomes a deeply life-changing experience. There is something powerful about hearing the whole story of Scripture in such an intentional way. Hearts are softened, perspectives shift, faith is renewed, and people often leave with a deeper understanding of God and a lasting hunger for His Word. Long after the retreat ends, many carry its impact with them into everyday life.
For more than twenty-four years, people from different churches, backgrounds, and seasons of life have come together for this shared experience. Some come knowing the Bible well, others come simply wanting to explore it more deeply. All are welcome.
This is a retreat centred on Scripture, community, and making space to hear God's Word without distraction.
I had a jaw drop when I heard we would read the Bible from Genesis to Revelation in six days. Then I experienced it and never looked back.

Absolutely, and you are warmly welcomed. Bible Read is for anyone who loves God’s Word, regardless of how much you have read before. Many first-timers describe it as the most impactful spiritual experience of their lives. You do not need prior knowledge, just a willing heart and a commitment to stay the course.
Yes. The R2,500 includes all five nights at Maranatha Conference Centre. You stay on-site so that reading, resting, and community all happen in one place — this is what makes completing the Bible genuinely possible.

Reading sessions run from 07h00 to 22h00 in structured hourly blocks with a five-minute break every hour, a tea break mid-morning, a meal break mid-afternoon, and a second tea break in the evening. Everyone reads at the same pace so the community stays together throughout.
The retreat involves partial fasting — one meal a day rather than the usual three. This is by design and helps sharpen focus. You are welcome to supplement with your own snacks and sweets throughout the day.
The programme is to be strictly followed. No reclining during reading. Sitting, standing and gentle movement within the reading space is fine. The community relies on every reader to stay engaged and encourage one another — this shared commitment is what makes the experience so powerful.
